Not the best shooter game out there, but a good one. Alien shooter gives you hours of fun shooting aliens. The games in the package have little to no diferences between them, but what you could ask? Let the aliens come and shoot them good.

A solidly made shooter with some RPG elements of upgrading your stats and guns, though this is by no means an RPG. This game set out to be a fun shootemup time-waster, best consumed in small amounts, and it succeeded in this aim. If you like this sort of thing you'll like this.

The game does exactly as it says. You shoot aliens, and lots of them. While you do have to collect trinkets every once in a while the main game is running from point A to point B while blowing thousands of Ridley Scott-esque aliens to goo.

While the nature of the game is simple it's the kind of game that can hit the spot on some days. Sometimes it's fun to turn your brain off and blast through hordes of green-blooded aliens. While the game isn't going to leave a lasting impression on you it serves it's purpose as an alien shooter.

Simple and nice shooter with some RPG elements. An addicting game that you start playing and canīt stop.

Hordes of monsters to kill and a lot of customization options!

This pack have a good price/content ratio. The games are averages isometric shooters with maybe more blood than your average game. If you want to kill aliens in short sessions of 10 to 30 minutes it's a good choice.

Alien Shooter Gold Pack review

Alien Shooter is a classic in the genre of isometric shooters. The story and setting isn't very deep, but in this type of game, that does not matter much. What matters is that you get the satisfaction of shooting up hordes and hordes of opponents, preferably with a nice assortment of weapons.

This bundle contains three games from the series, all with a nice skill advancement system and satisfying splatter when you eliminate the attacking aliens. The issue I take with these games is that the enemies are so brainless. In the Zombie Shooter series, which mostly seem like a reskin of these, this brainlessness can be explained by the fact your opponents are zombies, but aliens do not have that excuse.

Alien Shooter is perfectly described by its title. The game is a little outdated compared to more modern shooters, but I do enjoy this. There is fun to be had, but your whole mind does not need to be devoted to the game. There are times you need to figure out the level like a maze, but for the most part there are a few hundred enemies on the level and you go through killing them and blowing up things for money, ammo, and health. There is a small amount of upgrading in between levels but really this is just something that would have been great in an arcade with a few people.

Alien Shooter Gold Pack review

Alien Shooter is a standard eagle's eye view traditional shooter: just run around and fire at everything. Unlimited ammo, unlimited sprinting, and a whole lot of aliens against your guy.

The only thing I have to say now is: it's fun. Although the graphics engine is quite old and the immersion is not as good as it once was, there's a certain pleasure to be had when you have a hundred aliens coming at you and the only thing to help you is a machinegun.

That's the basis of every Alien shooter in this pack. They slightly differ between one another of course, but overall I do have to advise you: this genre of shooter is hard to find and I wouldn't be able to say if Alien Shooter series is above or below the standards. Just as well, since there's very little thinking to be done (your first mission has you finding an entrance in the complex but that's pretty much it) it won't please everyone.

Alien shooter 1 star: The game is quit annoying. many times i got stuck and had to restart the game. The enemys had the same problem. They have trouble to go through doors. AI is bad. No fun at all. Story no good,

Alien shooter vengeance 3 stars: The same concept as the first one. But a better story. AI hasn't change. Secret room are sometimes difficult to find and means it takes more time to finish. Later in the game i didn't look for them, because it doesn't give extra nice features. Game can be hard because you do not know when you can bay/repair. Your armor can be totaly destroyed in following levels. So you have to more carefull instead of storming in to kill the dumb enemies. Better graphics than the first one, and makes it nicer to play

I like overhead view shooters quite a bit and had a great time playing these games early on but they all suffer from the same problem. As the game progresses excessive swarming of enemies lead to frustration and eventually boredom. Throwing a bunch of dumb aliens at you instead of developing an intelligent enemy is programming laziness. Alien Swarm is a much better and free title that follows a similar formula. Nice dark gloomy graphics though.

Isometric sprite based arcade shooter against hordes of aliens. Lots of satisfying ways to dispatch foes and paint walls and floors with their gibs even with the dated graphics. Gets repetitive(but then what simplistic shooter like this doesn't?) but is enjoyable for 20 minutes at a time as a stress reliever.

Alien shooter is an arcade shooter in the 3/4 perspective. You can chose between a male or female character though the differences are minor as the game focuses on sending swarms after you. That means your going to stand in certain area's and lure enemies out to kill them. At first the game seams fair and easy though in the third level and beyond, it starts setting up cheap ambushes where you can easily die if you don't have the right guns equipped. The surprised ambushes feel cheap as they can surround you and shoot acid at you. It's an artificial way of making the game harder that dulls the experience. It gets worse as you go along where you need to buy the newest gun you can for every level to stand a fair chance. The buy system feels more like another obstacle rather then a tool. I became annoyed that I didn't want to play it anymore. Zombie shooter is basically the same as alien shooter except with zombies from what I have seen. I can't play it due to Alien shooter Gold on GamersGate not having it. Alien Shooter Vengeance is similar to the first game but manages to be better with less cheap moments and a RPG system. Unfortunately most if it is rather useless as most can be covered through the implants so only health regeneration, speed, and rockets are the only skills you need to focus on. Rockets are best due to the costs, damage, splash radius, and with the most useful implant combinations. The rest of the weapon skills are worthless as rockets become pretty much mandatory from stage 13 an onwards. Basically start investing into rockets as soon as you have one that have low reload time. All other weapons can be used for money or back up purposes. Of course if you distribute them incorrectly then it's harder. This game also has a minor story that at least gives you a compelling reason to do what your doing. It gives you the drive to keep playing rather then feel like a mindless romp. Though logic gets thrown out the window in the last two levels where the choice makes no sense. Play on hard is not to difficulty in the first three levels but gradually gets harder with bigger waves of enemies that will attack. There is also an annoying bit were enemies hit points seam to fluctuate at different times so if you usual converse ammo by using the pistol, then you would find it not as effective or taking longer to kill. Some enemies health are massive where you just need to shoot and hope they will die. This does become cheap in the outside levels where you are attacked by groups of heavy damaging enemies and there is no shop to upgrade your weapons. If you were running low on ammo, and hit the space bar by accident or thinking that their would be a shop at the start then you are screwed with no way to beat the next level. Another annoyance is that secrets are insanely hard to find but are very useful. You could scan throughout a level and still miss half of the secrets. This became a problem when it came to a second objective as I searched the entire level multiple times shooting all the walls but could never find it. I ended up losing out on a side-quest that gives you new stuff that you can buy. The game just becomes tedious overtime where the fun dies. It's like getting something you look forward too and proceed to be progressively more disappointed to the point where you wish you didn't have it. Graphics: Graphically, Alien shooter decent where things look like what they should be. It looks like a clear 1996 PS1 game with no blurry textures. Enemies are color pallet swaps to indicate their increased toughness. There is only two themes in the game that are forgettable and dull. Alien shooter Vengeance graphics are a much better improvement. It's practical double the quality of the first game. It looks more like a 1998 PC game. The improvement also adds to the atmosphere as the environments feel more alive. The world is not flat any more where you can travel up stairs and take a detour to explore side area's. I think the engine they have could make an amazing game both graphically and game play wise if they put the effort into it. Another improvement is that there is more music and it's not always quiet. Their is only about maybe 5 themes but they are much better though still forgettable. Vengeance also bring in voice acting which is mediocre quality but it gets by. Conclusion Overall Alien shooter is annoying arcade shooter. Game can be cheep and add artificial obstacles. Alien shooter Vengeance is a much better improvement in almost every-way. Though it the rpg system is imbalanced and it is tedious. This pack is barely worth $20 and not worth it buying separately as it cost the same. I do not recommend people buy it

If your looking for a mindless but incredibly fun action, Alien Shooter Gold Pack has everything you might be looking for. With inspiring retro style and dynamic RPG action one can find hours of fun. The aliens are relentless and so are you when it comes to the numerous ways it their annihilation. You can use and upgrade your skills and weapons. There is a story but try to follow it and you'll likely yawn way to often. The strong points of this game are in killing aliens. Nothing more, nothing else. Recommended, if you're not looking for deep, engrossing experience but are satisfied with retro action game which is light on RPG elements.

Alien Shooter one is the same as Zombie Shooter - very repetitive, simple shooter game with 3/4 perspective (and enemies can hide behind the walls and you wont see'em as they are not highlighted nor walls become invisible like in eg. Fallout). Alien Shooter 2 adds better graphic, some story, little settings and campaign mode can keep you busy for awhile if u like mindless slaughter ;).

Simple yet not boring top down shooter. A good collection of very similar games. The first couple of levels feel almost too easy, but the game gets hard fast enough to not feel bored. Good collection of weapons and huge amount of enemies. Good game which you will love if you liked games like Cannon Fodder from back in the day.

Three games in one and they look very similar (and almost identical for their gameplay) but that is not a flaw because these games actually make you come back for more, and even they are not the greatest isometric shooters of all time, you still can't stop playing until you finish few more levels.

so if you've ever played any game in the shooter franchise (i.e. alien or zombie shooter) then the only thing you need to know is this one is pretty hooked-up. If you haven't then it's a fairly standard arcade shooter with you walking around a three qauter perspective map and killing aliens in this case. There are lots of goodies and tons of baddies. It's a fun fun ussually cheap game that i would definetly recommend on any sale and even off sale if it sounds like your kind of game. I would really give it 3 and a half stars only because it is a little dated in the graphics department and i never really give a 5 star unless it's one of the coolest games i've ever played.

I really enjoyed all 3 games in this pack. They are all pretty standard shooter games but my favourite was Alien Shooter 1 as the problem I had with the other 2 was that the movement seemed kinda jumpy which brought down the whole game. Movement aside all 3 games are great fun, lots to shoot, loot and explore.

Alien Shooter Gold Pack review

This is a great value. You get 3 full games (Alien Shooter, Alien Shooter Vengence and Zombie Shooter).

Alien Shooter:

This is a fun game, non stop action. The problem solving aspects are pretty simple (find stuff, blow stuff up) and the strategy revolves around weapon and character upgrades. The good news, each level will challenge you to solve the problem up to level 7 or 8. Once you get the "best" stuff, the last two levels are not a challenge at all. They have a TON of monsters to shoot up, but by that time you have the uber-gun and a fully developed character. Not very challenging on what should be the hardest levels.

Alien Shooter Vengence:

Alien Shooter Vengeance is a great addition to the Alien Shooter collection with all new features and graphics! There are a lot more weapons to choose from as well as a lot more monsters to test them out on!! You can customize your choice of I think like 6-8 different characters as far as weapon specialization, intelligence, armor strength, and many more. Additionally, the new weapons they have are just really, really cool!!

Zombie Shooter:

I thoroughly enjoyed painting the walls of each level red, but the price I paid when this was first released was a bit much for how short the game is. I thought I was about halfway through at the final boss battle, only so see the credits roll. I think five bucks (price as of writing) is great value for how much fun you'll have even if you only play through once. There is some replay value, because you can't max out all of the weapons at once, plus the fun factor of this series (see also the Alien Shooter Games and Zombie Shooter 2) keeps me coming back.

The Alien Shooter Gold Pack does exactly what it says on the tin.

Well, that is apart from the inclusion of Zombie Shooter. But how that one differs from the Alien Shooters should be easy enough to figure out.

The name would suggest a fairly straightforward top down blaster where you face down seemingly overwhelming odds and cling onto survival by the skin of your teeth. Which for the most part is true enough. To provide a bit of depth to the proceedings there are some action RPG elements. You can get upgrades, your character levels up and NPCs will set you some tasks.

When it comes down to it though, this pack is about the massive carnage you leave in your wake, meted out by increasingly powerful weapons. Don't expect an easy ride.

The games aren't big budget titles with lavish production values but they do what they do well enough. My only real gripe is that the difficulty can really spike at some points.

Alien Shooter Gold Pack review

By MaceyNeil posted 18th March 2011

I have played both alien shooter and alien shooter 2 and my personal preference is for the former based on it being a simple casual game to relax with.

Unfortunately on my 64bit vista ultimate utilizing the gigabyte ati5850 it gave me sprite transparency in the games based off the original alien shooter engine, meaning that all that was visible when shooting was a shadow under the main character thus rendering the game unplayable.

The GOG.com version of the original alien shooter does not have this problem however and as such recommend you buy at least the original from them.

Alien shooter 2 however worked flawlessly and the detail for such a casual style of game is actually rather nice, though as i will now illuminate (pardon the pun) it's a bit too dark and serious.

I personally felt the constant need to use the torch more to the detriment of the game.

The sequels survival modes are enjoyeable though with a gun turret/upgrade buying round mode variation.

Although based on it's functionality i should have given it only 2 stars as after all it is a whole package, the fact that the sequel follows so closely the formers gameplay you really are only getting one game anyways and realistically now that i have both A.S.1 & A.S.2 i am satisfied that the games themselves are worth about 4 stars.

It would get 5 if only the extras like zombie shooter would work, but apparently zombie shooter was complete garbage in comparisson anyways so i won't let it drop my score too much.

Besides if you want a good zombie shooter game theres a flash based game out for free that i found to be as enjoyeable as alien shooter 1, so *shrugs.

By groovegeek posted 24th February 2011

I loved these games. The player perspective was perfect. I do have some problems with zombies that use weapons though. I like my zombies the way mama used to make 'em: slow, unarmed, hungry, and in massive quantities. One of the games had the coolest weapon that I have ever used: it shoots circular saw blades that slice through any enemies in their path and then embed in a solid object. First time I ever laughed after firing a weapon. It was great!!!

OK collection of 3 isometric 3d shooters. The graphics, effects and music are just average. This is the equivalent of a Flash driven or freeware shooter, worth it if you can get it when it's five bucks or you're just a really big fan of mindless violence. It's been done better, it's been done worse.

I played the original Alien Shooter a while back when it was (briefly) freeware off a local gaming mag's demo disc. I finished it at least 3 times. The common theme of all the Alien/Zombie shooter games is quite simply mindless, highly enjoyable violence. Turn on some metal and get to blasting!

The games are quite glitchy though - vengeance tends to jerk even on modern rigs and the clipping is atrocious, the voice acting in vengeance could also be a bit... better done.

Niggles aside, one of the best pick up and play series of games out there.

I played Alien Shooter 2 a while back on gametap and really enjoyed it. It's hard to explain why I liked this so much. Mowing down hordes of monsters is extremely satisfying and its got just enough RP to mix things up a bit. The graphics are surprising well done too and the voice acting is pretty good if a bit silly.

Zombie Shooter and Alien Shooter aren't quite as good but still fun. My biggest complaint so far is getting stuck on stuff is very easy in Zombie and once I had to restart a level because I couldn't get free.

The sequel alone is worth the price of admission, everything else is icing on the cake.
