Bringing the legendary war between two of science-fiction's most popular characters to FPS fans, AvP delivers three outstanding single player campaigns and provides untold hours of unique 3-way multiplayer gaming.

Experience distinctly new and thrilling first person gameplay as you survive, hunt and prey in the deadly jungles and swamps surrounding the damned colony of Freya's Prospect.

However, the United States Marine Corps are humanity's last line of defense, and as such they are armed to the teeth with the very latest in high explosive and automatic weaponry.
  • As the Predator, you will stalk from the shadows and from above, passing athletically through the treetops to ambush your victims. Although equipped with an array of powerful, exotic weapons and tracking equipment, honor ultimately dictates that you must get in close and take your trophies face to face.
  • As the most deadly species in the universe, the Alien offers you the chance to play as the very stuff of nightmares - the monster in the dark swarming forward with countless others, jaws like a steel trap and claws like blades.

is one of the best games that have more steam, of course with some flaws and improvements, it's still an alien game that every fan should get it and play it, I highly recommend it.

This is such a good atmospheric game. As a first person shooter it realy makes you feel you are there and the aliens are coming to impregnate you...At first it is a little hard to learn how best to play but once you perservere it is worth the effort. Let's rock........just like the movies Great game. Cant wait for the sequel.

Easily one of the prettiest games on the PC in terms of ambiance, but falls short of up-to-date graphical technology and detail. As far as original AvP versus modern AvP, the game play is somewhat the same or similar, though with some added offensive and defensive abilities.

There is a tutorial for each of races you play, so that's pretty much covered in terms of getting used to the game play mechanics of each 'class'. There are a few interesting moments and the NPC's you're trying to subdue/kill aren't too 'stupid' so to speak. There are some tactics involved and often times, more than one way to move through an area.

Controls are pretty fluid. Sound is pretty standard. Music is somewhat non-existing, save the ambient sounds. If you've been looking for a shooter with a bit of a twist, I recommend AvP, but if you're looking for something along the lines of BF3 and MW3, then look elsewhere. AvP is like a 'dumb-down' version of Crysis.

I should also mention that playing as a Human Marine can be a horrific experience. Imagine dark settings, wearing your lame armour, carrying a simple side-arm with your heat-tracking device beeping. It's exactly like the Alien movies.

Pretty good game. The campaigns are too long and it can get quite confusing when you play as an alien, but otherwise it's good. If you like the movies then you should try this game.

There's not really a whole lot I can say about this game. I'm not a huge fan of the film Alien VS Predator (although I LOVE the original Alien), but I didn't hate it either, and that's kind of how I felt about the game as well.

I can honestly say it's a lot better than I was expecting. Movie games usually tend to stink. Really, though, it's just decidedly average in every respect.

The 3 single-player campaigns are reasonably varied playing as marine/alien/predator, but they certainly didn't rock my socks off. I played an hour or two of each and was somewhat underwhelmed but not entirely disappointed.

Graphically it doesn't look very good at all. The textures are pretty blurry, and the field of view is quite narrow to the point that the faster-moving alien and predator characters sometimes made me motion sick. The environments, while somewhat uninspired, at least look quite different between the 3 campaigns and you do get some sense of immersion I suppose.

The sound design, on the other hand, is spot-on. It really sounds just like the movie and contribute immensely to the atmosphere of the game.

Probably the best part of the game is the multiplayer, which was considerably more fun than I expected, but keep in mind that this is an older game and the scene is pretty much dead, so you'll probably want to have some friends to play with.

Overall I have no major complaints about this title, but no glowing praise either. If it's on sale and you're a fan of the movies or you're just looking for a fairly straightforward shooter to pass the time, it's not the worst choice you could make.

This isn't a bad game, in fact it's a great game in a myriad of console shooters. Pity the game itself offers almost no replay value.

As a gamer who's played FPS games for quite a while now, I abstain from multiplayer parts of them so I cannot comment about that part but honestly the single player was a let down. I would've expected a moving storyline from an AvP game. Totally disappointed. Get it on a sale if you like the series.

If you liked AvP2, then avoid this as the plage. Console port that don't belong on PC. Better luck next time Rebellion. The last one had a great story, this one don't even compare.

As any other lone shooter, it's not dynamic. You have just one way in front of you and you can only do the objectives in one single manner. There is no dynamics to the unfold of the events. Everything happens one way only. That's why I like better the tactical shooters. But I couldn't deprive myself from controlling a xenomorph (by the way the alien campaign seems very short).

So...nice game, but it has all the flaws the other same type games have.

As an Aliens fan, get this game and play it for the Marine campaign and the Alien Campaign. Ignore the Predator campaign unless you feel like boxing with aliens. Also multiplayer is dead, but even when it was alive it was just chains of very long kill animations that leave you vulnerable for other kill animations.

Just get this game cheap and play it for 2/3s of the campaign. That 2/3 is pretty worth it.

A brutal version of the movie which also was very entertaining

In my opinion the predator is the show-piece in this game, it is superior to the other classes and offers many possibilties within the campaign

But I enjoyed this game in all 3 campaigns

A fun shooter with a three parts campaign, one each for the Marine, Alien, and Predator. The marine campaign takes the form of a fairly basic horror shooter with the classic movie weaponry. The alien campaign puts the player in the body of the xenomorph, with wall climbing and ceiling running. This can be disorienting, but is really fun. The predator campaign is more of a stealth game, with the classic plasma weapon left off towards the end, due to it being slightly overpowered. Definitely buy if you are a fan of the universe, for others, there are better shooters.

Excellent game. Between the Aliens, Predator and Marine there are 3 completely different play styles available, this game seem to get all three spot on. I have only given this 4 stars because the game is fun, but far from brilliant.

The Good

Three separate campaigns make for some variety

Close-up kills are wonderfully gross

Multiplayer can be good fun.

The Bad

Awkward and inconsistent controls

Poor level design

Loaded with small but deadly flaws.

I don't understand the hate this game gets. It's a great game with three distinct flavours.

Marine = Survival Horror (almost)

Alien = Stealth

Predator = A combination of the above with no real horror. Just the feeling of being the biggest bad dude in the universe.

I love the AvP series (even Primal Hunt), the return of the original developing house to create a new title was great news. Even if they have had a slew of rather poor releases, I still had faith that they could deliver a great new incarnation to the series.

I was not disappointed. The single player campaigns were tense, and well thought out. The story was a bit hit and miss with the cross overs into each races game...

The graphics are great with the character models being very detailed and true to their movie counterparts.

Where this game stumbled a little was online - The matchmaking system was totally borked when it was first released. This was annoying but not a rage inducing as the "insta-kill trains"

Playing as an Alien or Predator and kill moving an enemy usually ended with you getting insta-killed by another Alien/Predator and then that person would then get killed by another...Until you get a marine who comes in and ends the train with a grenade.

Pros -

Atmospheric

Looks great

Sounds great

Three single player campaigns

You get to play as two of the most iconic Hollywood monsters ever

Cons -

Insta-kill trains

Sometimes confusing wall cling as the alien

It ends.

In my opinion these are actually three games: A classical horror survival shooter with the Marine, a high tech stealth game with Predator and a slaugther everything with the Alien campaign. Gameplay is ok, story alright, AI is a bit dumb and often very scripted, but playing the Alien kicks ass.

Cool enjoyable game, not too deep of a story but a fun experience altogether.

i have played 25% of the game (1-2 missions with all 3 protagonists). then my computer crashed (not sure if game was the reason as it was minimized) and my entire progress in game (savegames) has been lost. my achievements are still displayed in steam window. thats why i hate steam and never use it (or comparable) again.

from what i have seen:

the graphics are nice

the gameplay is very repetitive and the game is heavily scripted

i played easy mode to avoid frustration but has been frustrated sometimes (difficulty)

predator seems a bit overpowered and close range combat (long range weapons are unlocked later)

ability of aliens to climb walls doesnt work well imo

story is almost not existant, why does weyland life there when he died in the movie?

short game, 2 hours = 25% do the math

relative similar to the old avp game and many references to the films

no real fear or horror

if you have no problem with steam and like sci-fi/fps its worth a look. but its not a must have.

Very good game. i recommend you a good mouse, mine was to bad to react as quick as it is needed for this game. Enemys approach often very quick and out of the nowhere. This gives you a lot of creepy moments, i. e. when you walk down a extreme dark hallway and then some aliens jump out of the darkness at you. And if you react quick, but your mouse doesnīt... game over.

The graphics is really good and makes you really feel like walking through the movies. There is not a single graphic bugs like clipping problems and such. The shadow and lighting effects are totally great. It happend that i got shocked because I saw my own shadow dancing in the light of a pendling light at the ceiling.

The sound is great! Even it gives you the creeps. Play this game at a high volume and if possible with 5.1. The sound of the Aliens creeping through the ventilation and their screams, when you shoot at them is asewome and very very original. I have to mention the sound of the Pulse rifle! Itīs incredible and just like in the Movies.

All together I LOVE this game.

This return to a beloved series is brutal enough, but it doesn't pack the punch of its forebears. Three separate campaigns make for some variety, close-up kills are wonderfully gross, multiplayer can be good fun; but awkward and inconsistent controls, poor level design, while being loaded with small but deadly flaws make this a less than desirable title.

It's the little things that really drag the game down. Aliens vs. Predator seems to be a well-meaning attempt at reinvigorating a languishing series, but grotesque kills and some entertaining multiplayer moments don't cut it--not when so many slick and exciting shooters are on store shelves, vying for your time. The attention to detail, the well-considered level design, and the sense of momentum that characterize the finest shooters are missing here. Aliens vs. Predator is sometimes enjoyable but never escapes an overwhelming sense of carelessness, so while it may remind you of the good old days, it fails to recapture them.

Aliens vs Predator is a great game based on the Unreal Engine 3 focused on 3 main parts, 2 of them are 2 different types of stealth action and 1 survival horror (the marines, aliens and predators respectively). The game is always in the first person view, making it highly realistic but a bit confusing when running on walls and it takes some getting used to.

The sounds are highly emersive and very realistic, adding to the atmosphere of the game.

The graphics are very good (as already mentioned the game is based on the unreal engine 3 , so there isn't really a way to could look bad anyway ), naturally I found one or two places where the textures glitch out but those are random spots on the terrain where the majority of players wouldn't probably visit.

The gameplay is solid, the Marines campaign gets a bit tiring since it's pretty much a lot of the same. The aliens campaign is the best however the shortest, (you can't have your cake and eat it too) the predators campaign however kind of doesn't fit in... What I mean by that is that the entire battle between the aliens and humans doesn't really leave much space for the the predators story to develop, but then again I'm just nit-picking at a really solid title.

Ridiculousness at its best.

Wasting time on even reviewing this game is well... A waste of time. There is absolutely nothing that makes this game even remotely different from other FPS games except the fact that you can't do many things that you can do in other FPS games (you can't sprint and the guy is jumping as if he has hernia).

Sega (hint, hint) + FPS = do the math yourself. If you aren't that good at math then think about how bad this game must be when I was literally begging for some angry Alien (censored) to come by and eat me while I was playing with the marine.

The Predator and Xenomorph campaigns are even worse. You simply go over the "pew pew pew... HIT THE MOUSE BUTTON 3... pew...pew...pew... HIT THE MOUSE BUTTON 3..." routine over and over again...

Oh btw for those hoping to play the multiplayer... The game supports some stupid matchmaking system which doesn't even work because there are no other games available to join. Maybe all the other players were eaten by Xenomorphs... Lucky bastards...

For the most part of it I found this game to be somewhat bland, without anything that really makes it stand out from the huge category of FPS-games.

The single player portion of the game is - as in the previous titles - divided into three main campaigns of marine, alien and predator. The marine portion is an regular first person-shooter with running along predesignated paths, flipping switches and killing enemies(all three kinds of them, excluding the bosses) after another. There were a few tough fights and some moody moments, but for the most part of it its just an mediocre experience, without anything that really stands out. In the alien campaign stealth is the key as you are somewhat vulnerable in direct combat. All of your attacks are melee based and you can now stick to walls and ceilings and move around along them. Its can be quite entertaining at times to be an "predator" and clear rooms of unwary marines, one by one. But it quickly wears thin as thereīs yet another letdown from the game manifesting itself. The AI, which makes the job ridiculously easy for you. The marines pretty much always offer you an obvious "soft spot" to kill them with, even when they know youīre nearby. Then theres my personal favorite, the predator campaign. The predator utilizes a various array of technical devices and abilities to dispose of its enemies, which are fun to use. The marines are again pretty dump and donīt really offer too much of an challenge if you are patient enough. You also get to pick up an new weapon at certain point, which one shots all the regular opponents and has unlimited uses, making the predator campaign even easier than it already is.

Also worth mentioning is that the campaigns recycles the same maps over and over. You can have different approaches to them with the three different characters, but it does not help the fact that the game starts feeling repetitive.

The game obviously had somewhat high production values as the graphics and sounds do their job pretty well, but that does not show off too well in other parts of the game. I would only recommend this for the fans of the aliens/predators universe or if you see this on an sale. Otherwise there are better alternatives.

The game also has an multiplayer section, which I didnt really get to test thoroughly as there was hardly any company to play with, at least not in servers with decent ping, so I cant really comment on it.

This is, like other AvsP games of course, divided in three different parts that offer different gameplay elements (stealth, ranged and close quarter combat). I especially like the fact that you both get to be afraid of the dark and be the monster in the dark.

But you donīt get to be that afraid. I find this game somewhat laking in atmosphere. As a standard (but varied) shooter it dose an OK job but without the pressing atmosphere of being hunted it is not much more.

I found playing it in multilayer with people you know gives a much better experience.

Aliens versus Preditors was very promising - But it falls behind the excellent AvP 2000/Gold and the quite good 2nd Game of the Franchise - far behind that is. Especially the single player campaign leaves you wanting something better. Even the great a blood and gore graphics make up for it, for long.

While Multiplayer can be a ton of fun because it gives each Marines, Aliens and Predators itīs own weighted gameplay style.

When you are not exactly a fan of the Franchise, however you better move on. There are enough far better FPS out there to play instead.

The reason WHY you should get it on GG is because if you donīt live in the US, you have a hard time to get this with a bearable DRM or even get it at all.

The games graphics are extremely nice and the gameplay is very fun, with a few flaws like finishing moves taking some time and people can shoot you while you do em.

The multiplayer, never had a better rush than being a marine hunted by invicible predators and fast aliens.
