Cribbage Quest review
Cribbage is one of my all-time favorite card games, and Cribbage Quest does a good job of providing a platform for playing it on my PC.
True the adventure mode does offer a rather cheesy story line as you play different hands of Cribbage, but the real focus of this game isn't the story, but rather the actual game play itself, and in that sense CQ delivers exactly what you would expect.
Basically if you are looking for a nice, solid cribbage game for your PC, than I would highly recommend picking this game up, because that is exactly what you will get.
Don't look for a lot of fancy bells and whistles, this game is simply a way to play Cribbage on your computer, and for me, that is all I want.
Cribbage Quest review
Cribbage Quest attempts to valiantly combine a storyline of epic exploration with a cribbage board and ends up with a mediocre mishmash.
The cribbage itself is, of course, fun and the AI is at the very least competitive. The counting system is a great way for new players to grasp how hands score and for those looking to learn or improve upon the game can definitely find ample practice here.
Conversely, the story is lame at best, far too verbose for all its simplicity, and to make matters worse the voice acting is laughably bad. The developers would have been far better off spending time and resources improving the game's art and keeping the focus on the gameplay.
Expect to net five to ten hours out of the game depending how much cribbage a player can handle when couched in such drab surroundings. An average game at best, grab it if you enjoy or wish to learn cribbage and don't mind politely ignoring the mockable trappings.
