GAME SUMMARY

Elven Legacy: Siege

Rating: 4.1 (125 votes cast)

Several months have passed since the return of the Order of Marcus from exile to the continent and their founding of the kingdom of New Tixus in this, the second official expansion to the epic Fantasy Strategy game Elven Legacy.
Outcast elves under the leadership of the elven lord Saggitel, have once more acted provocatively and dared to cross in to the realm of man, but the human armies are ready and waiting. Inciting the wrath of brother Karel, the fearsome knight of the Holy Inquisition, along with the agent of New Tixus, the ranger Cornelius, Saggitel is now their target of retribution. How far can Saggitel run before they catch up to him?

Each of the heroes, whatever their individual cause, has a mighty army behind them. In the course of their adventures, each will have to stand in battle and withstand mighty sieges in their quest for survival and victory. The ancient impregnable fortresses of the dwarves, the enchanted cities of the elves, and the historic capital cities of Eolia, each will see their share of bloodshed, and each will become sites of conflicts which will go down in the annals of history.

Elven Legacy: Siege review

I played this for last. I wish games like this one were produced more often. It is, like the core game, a very well design turn-based game. It is challenging but not frustrating. The story is excellent and the graphic superb. If you love old-school strategy, you cannot miss this one of any others in the same series.

I really enjoy the entire Elven Legacy series. This expansion is clearly the most difficult, so you have to get used to the fact you're going to lose troops on almost every mission. Also, as othere have said, those Gold victories are quite elusive in this expansion. Still, a rewarding game experience when you finally beat that last scenario!

Probably my favorite of the series. I like castle siege games and this fit me to a tea. Having to defend or overcome defensive obstacles requires patience and planning. I also got a great deal of satisfaction when finally overcoming the defensive bulwarks of my opponent. Pick it up, you will not be dissappointed.

Another addition to the Elven Legacy series. If you are new to it, I suggest starting with Fantasy Wars or Elven Legacy (like I did). You won't be dissapointed. Siege adds more maps, more heroes, more items, etc. Plenty of fun for a few dollars. I'd say it is the hardest in the series, but still quite enjoyable. Can't wait for the next one!

If you are a turn based stragegy fan and enjoy fantasy worlds, this one is for you. The learning curve is pretty easy and you can actually get sucked into the plot and character storylne quickly. The game itself is pretty hard though and you will soon realize that the experienced units have a much better chance of survival and tipping over a battle than new ones, so protect them fiercely. With multiple add-ons and for that price, i strongly recommand this game !

If you love your Elven Legacy games to be super-difficult, this is the one to beat. Nearly all the campaign missions played (sofar) are virtually impossible to achieve a Gold victory, w/o losing some of your troops. (Something which was easily done in the original and to some extent in Ranger).

Also if you prefer large army battles, you will enjoy this expansion as virtually all of the mission are composed of two (or more sides) in confrontation.

Overall, the scenario designers have taken the current EL engine to its limitations with an amazing combination of starting units, scripting, and a first rate AI to provide the most extensive challenge yet for EL players that want that extra challenge.
