The best space game ive ever played and what i judge all others by. My entire childhood. Best ingame music ever.

Very good game for anyone looking for something with a very involved campaign. Graphics for the period are very good (look out for some of the epic explosions). The amount of content regarding researching and areas to exlore in the game also seem to give it alot more depth than some other more sandbox style games of the same type. I would suggest this for anyone who regularly plays Eve online or similar multiplayer games, as a great additional to your collection. Rate this 4/5 stars.

Classic game that is often over looked but the graphics and game play are still very unique. However it can be unstable so save often but if you do save often you will continue to enjoy the game.

Quite possibly one of the most under appreciated Space RTS/4X fusion games in the history of PC gaming. Many of the principles and design decisions employed by Sins of a Solar Empire can be seen in this game from Several years previous.

The Good:

Graphics still hold up today.

Dynamic and interesting tech tree integrated into rest of resource management.

Very good balance of RTS and 4X gameplay.

The Bad:

Micro between systems can be a pain, there is a rudimentary version of Sins' interface but it lacks some of the sophistication.

Fighters become almost useless very quickly

Campaign drags on a bit and doesn't give you a chance to play any race other than Human.

The Ugly:

Doesn't handle current day high resolutions well(tech tree doesn't display properly)

Audio and graphical bugs on Windows 7 cause occasional CTD
