Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green review

The game is loosely based on land of the dead movie, their are a lot of weapons and plenty

on ammo. the zombies are slow moving and break through walls and doors their are not a lot

of zombies in the first levels then it picks up and their are a lot of zombie hordes.

A cheap, sorta rushed game to cash in on romeros movie. Doesnt really have much to do with the movie at all.

The game seems cheaply made in every part. The graphics are generic and repettive and the gameplay the same.

But if you like to try every game where you blow the heads off of zombies, this wont be the worst youve tried.

I had played a demo of this game and knew I had to have it. I agree with another reviewer, the behavior of the zombies are more to my liking. I like my zombies the way mama used to make 'em: slow, unarmed, hungry, and in massive quantities. They do bash down doors in this game, not sure how I feel about that. The game captures the visceral feel of the movies.

Fun little game, I enjoyed it myself.

Land of the Dead is loosely based on John Romero's film titled "Land of the Dead", trailer of which is included with the game.

I'd recommend trying it on normal at least if you are familiar with FPS genre in general. The weapons selection is pretty decent, and they all have their uses. I found the Fire Axe and the .22 caliber rifle to be my favourites of the lot, which I used most of the time. Other weapons include a revolver, hammer, shovel, shotgun and Molotov cocktail, to name a few (there are more). Ammunition is pretty plentiful, but the game can also be played in a melee-oriented fashion, which I did.

The gameplay is quite good, the controls pretty smooth and I didn't notice any bugs, if zombies sometimes getting stuck in a doorframe when 2 zombies try to get trough doesn't count. I cannot say anything about my multiplayer experience, but the multiplayer modes are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Invasion.

The graphics engine seems bit dated, but then again, "Great graphics do not a great game make" as Yoda said.

If you are looking for a zombie slaying game and the fast moving zombies of Left4Dead do not appeal to you that much, then this game is not a bad choice.

This is a pretty basic game. The object is to kill zombies. Like in most zombie movies, the zombies are slow-moving and therefore pretty easy to kill.

The first few levels of the game are in my opinion the best because you have little or no ammunition and must rely on other weapons while also learning how the zombies come at you. After you get to the city, its pretty mundane with just the most basic tasks assigned to you.

It's not a bad game and it can be fun to go back through and use only melee weapons.
