I grew up with SNES rpgs like Chrono Trigger so I can't help but love this kind of retro turn-based games. Monster RPG it's a decent indie game, with interesting ideas, and since now it's free.. why aren't you trying it?

A very solid RPG for a freebie, definitely felt it was worth the time I put into it.

Pretty decent RPG for this price, but I've acually got it free. It's pretty old school like Final Fantasy, so if you like jRPGs, you should like this one too.

A great classic style of gameplay for those who grew up on these styles. As far as the rpg factor and gameplay it is the classic forumly of turn based combat, getting equipment and puzzle solving. It's an allright game.

A fun little retro RPG reminiscent of RPGs from the NES/SNES era. It has an interesting story and advanced combat. The graphics are kind of dated though. It's free, give it a try!

For a free RPG game this holds up quite well, but you'd still be much better off dishing out a few bucks and buying a better game. Great deal for a gamer on a budget.

decent retro rom like rpg, pretty hard on hard difficulty.

Graphics are dated even compare to the really old rpg. Only 1 button for actions. Story is ok. Bottom line if you like these old school rpg like the eariler FF it's worth a try.

I usually play old school pixel based rpg for their story. The story is decent enough. The gameplay is also good. Quite a decent old school rpg. Not might be of everyone taste. But still you should try it once, after all it's free.

P.S. Just because I rated it 3 star doesn't mean it is average. I rated it based on my own taste. Your taste may be different. It may be 1 star or it may be 5 star. So just take the rating and reviews as a guideline. :)

Great game if you grew up playing RPGs on the NES/SNES. There are a few features and things that make it stand out, but in reality this game could have been released ten years ago. All in all, very enjoyable to anyone who loves RPGs.

Fun to mess around in, and maybe it's just me but it feels very overwhelming. I'm sure someone with either more creative vision than myself or someone who's a bit more patient to work through all the controls would enjoy this more, but for free, can't complain too much :p

This game is only a few years old but looks like it was made in the 80's obviously a very low budget title. I just can't get past that.

Now while this RPG is also on iOS, I would argue that this version is better. This is quite evident when you just think about the difference between a tiny iphone or ipod screen vs a computer screen of any size you want. Even if you are an Apple fan, note that there is a Mac version of Monster RPG 2 as well on Gamersgate! There you can experience this classic, quite different than the Final Fantasy RPG experience as this RPG fights in a party of four*, quite a fancinating change.

An excellent old school RPG. Similar to the old RPG from Sqaure or Enix back in the days, turn based combats, buy equipments, etcs. Not to mentions, the puzzle elements of the game are indeed worth checking out since it was rare for RPG games back in the days to have puzzle that will challenge you.

The sprites were wonderful reminded me of FF4 or FF5. The battle backrounds blended well with the battle sprites and was well done. The battle sprites them self could have been better I found they were a little bland spells where good but also seemed cut and paste.

For Those who can't get enough little RPGs then this is another fun game to be played, otherwise you might be better off trying out a slightly better retro RPG.

Monster RPG2 is an old school RPG made in RPG Maker. If that doesn't put you off, then you will probably enjoy it, as it's not a bad game by any means.

The story is nothing to write home about, but it's not so bad either. The gameplay is the same you could expect to find in a SNES or Genesis RPG, which is a good thing.

Classic style RPG with a weak story but easy to follow. It does what it should do, but doesn't stand out in any way. For free or very cheap, it might be worth a try if you like this kind of games, otherwise you wont miss out on anything.

I guess I'm not as big a fan of retro games as i used to be. It's enjoyable but go in knowing that it's an older style RPG which means lots of talking and walking and fighting random monsters.

A final fantasy type of RPG. Good old school feeling, but the graphic still can use some upgrade. However, even though it is all about retro feeling, some part can still use to graphic upgrade. Overall a game easy to get into and have some fun.

Basically, an embarrassingly buggy, stereotyped RPG Maker game. Not really anything further to remark about. Hopefully the dev will grow to be more confident and capable in the realm of game-making and release an RPG worth writing about.

Monster RPG 2 review

Monster RPG 2 is fairly solid retro-styled RPG that attempts to emulate the things you loved about your favorite 16-bit classics, but more often than not falls flat on its face. You can't beat that price though!

Monster RPG 2 review

A cute little game that acts as a sort of tribute to the RPGs of old, i.e. Final Fantasy. The graphics are charming, and the music is pretty. For the low price, it definitely fills that sweet nostalgia spot.

Monster RPG 2 review

This is a shout to old school RPG games. Gameplay is similar to Final Fantasy. This game is aimed at the nostalgic gamers who grew up playing games likes this. Everything, from the graphics, music and gameplay are aimed at bringing you memories from the past. At this low price I recommend it to anyone, including new players so they can see "what all the fuss is about".

An old school Final Fantasy style rpg. It doesn't have amazing graphics, but it entirely makes up for it in the gameplay. You will smile as you rack up the kills and progress in this wonderfully designed game. And it's really hard to beat the low, low price of a game like this. It's worth more than the devs say it is.

As a youngin' I grew up back in the time when dinosaurs ruled the earth (or at least had a sitcom on TV) we played with a thing called a SNES, it was 16-bits and we LIKED IT! None this fancy 3D, CGI stuff, just pixels on a grid, you know what? It was good! Ahem, but enough channeling the ghost of Cranky Kong. MRPG2 is a fun, little RPG based in the style of 16-bit snes RPGs, which I played many of in the past. The sounds, the music, the story all bring me back to that time. Anyone a fan of old games will love this just for it look and feel. All and all, fun, retro, grinding! For the price you can't beat it. If you liked the art/gameplay of Breath of Death Or Cthulhu Saves the World, you will like this.

This RPG. Simply Put. Is. Awesome.

Not Amazing, but it's a pretty awesome game!

You play as a girl who tries her best to save her possessed friend who becomes a dark lord. You meet many interesting characters along the way, each with different roles in battle. It's a great game to purchase if you're into classic SNES/GBA graphics in an RPG and if you enjoy customizing your characters growth (you get a certain amount of skillpoints per level)

For two bucks, you won't be disappointed!
