The Oil Blue is an indie action-sim that has you drilling for oil in the world's oceans, selling barrels of oil on the market, and exploring new islands once you completed objectives set by your employer, the United Oil of Oceania company.

Once you land on an island, you have a set amount of days and oil barrels to make during your stay. Fire up those old drilling machines and start making oil underwater, watch the oil barrel market and sell at the highest price, repair machines and do it all within the time you’re given…or the UOO will boot you off the island for a better crew. The Oil Blue review

I give it a solid 4 stars. Installation was flawless, which is always a good way to start a new game. The color-scheme can be a bit funky, but it adds to the atmosphere of the game. It's no Game-Of-The-Year material but doesn't have to be, because of the affordable price. It's a bit monotonous at times but does fulfill a genre-niche of oil business/drilling games, of which there are precious few GOOD ones. I don't regret the purchase at all, even if it isn't something I'll play again & again & again & .....

Is a fun game for a while but gets a bit repetitive after a while. Good for playing for a short time every so often

The Oil Blue review

This is quite probably the best $15 I've spent in the last month. I have been playing The Oil Blue for about 3 hours now and I love it. The art design is pretty awesome, the sounds are very well done, and most importantly the gameplay is addictive. As the description states you spend your time drilling for oil. You get a couple of hours (2-3 minutes) before the day starts to repair and examine stats, then when the day starts you get to the business of drilling for oil. There are 4 kinds of rigs to use: Groundwells, Oil Derricks, Pumpjacks, and Drill Rigs. Each machine has a different mechanism for running it, from Groundwells which need managing of the speed of pumping and the battery consumption, to Oil Derricks which are complex drilling minigames. The tough part is managing 3, 4, 5, and maybe more machines at once, as well as managing the amount of stress each machine handles each day. If a machine takes too much stress (i.e. the stress meter hits full), then the machine breaks down and you not only have to repair it, but you also have to pay for repairs. Stress management is part of the drilling gameplay, but actual repairs are short minigames that are reasonably easy, but can be frustratingly difficult if you don't have very good reflexes. Overall this game has an absolutely frantic pace, from drilling to managing the entire operation you won't realize how fast the 'day' went by. The Oil Blue is a great and fun time waster, and a must buy for any minigame/management gamer.
