Rating: 3.8 (77 votes cast)

Battle never ceases in the realm known as Hell. This time around it's a battle for the freedom of your very soul. Will you be able to escape from the prison hidden in the darkest deepest chasm of Hell? Do you have enough courage to travel through the most dangerous and twisted areas which are infamous for their unsafety even among demons themselves? Are you prepared to significantly reduce the demonic population of these areas?

Once again you'll have a chance to experience the magnificent dark atmosphere of the good (or evil?) Painkiller, the only true oldschool First Person Shoot, tough as nails, without a trace of remorse, without a glimpse of motion blur or other technological makeup. Just Painkiller and nothing else matters!

  • 5 completely new levels with impressive locations like an Angkor temple, a massive old warehouse and a highway where hundreds of cars crashed.
  • A new campaign guarantees for 5+ hours of new and genuine Painkiller action
  • Even more bloodshed and action per square meter: immerse into freaking intense gameplay & ultimately challenging FPS action
  • More dense maps and sick enemies than ever before: kill over 6.000 uniquely spawned wicked monsters
  • Continues the story of Bill Sherman

Painkiller Recurring Evil review

Painkiller was a great shooter, and even by today's standard, the formula is still quite good. However, all the new releases of painkillers were practically the same thing - same engine, same formula, same graphic, etc, etc. This one is no exception, and it is only 5 hours long. I will suggest going for Hell & Damnation.

A classic action game, by those who know what they are doing, in Nordic Games. An even better deal when purchased in the Painkiller Complete Pack here on GamersGate!

where do i start...? well for one this is pratically the same game as painkiller redemption only instead we get 1 character as opposed to 2. which is ok with me but to be honest, every painkiller game that comes out has gone downhill since the original (and its expansion pack). the weapons here are the same as ressurection, the music ...eh..., the enemies are from previous games so unispired(?). Now i love painkiller (technically its called painkiller black so i'll call it PKB), and i didn't think overdose was half bad. but after overdose this game series has just stopped trying really. if you must buy it, then buy it because it's at least a game. other than that go buy redemption. its cheaper, better music (REALLY good actually), and more fun as an arena game.

What can I say? It's Painkiller and I LOVE it! You just kill everything that moves and try to get to the end of the stage. This game really reminds me of Doom, Hexen, Heretic, Serious Sam and Will Rock. To those of you that say the story is non-existent, the graphic is old and what else, why don't you say that about Doom too? It's a legendary game and yet no one mentions that? Proofs that a game doesn't need such things to be a good game. Anyway, I just personally LOVE this game. I love its concept, I love its style, I love the monsters design, I love the weapons, I love the gameplay... I just love everything about it. If you're like me, then you might definitely love it :)
