Puzzle Quest 2 review

A great `match 3` game relying heavily on strategy, observation and no small amount of luck!

The character customization (choosing 5 skills, stats and gear) effects your play style drastically and trying out new classes to find which style suits you is entertaining and challenging.

While the game can become slightly repetitive the variety of enemies pushes you into different strategies and methods to keep the game play alive!

A great match-3 blend with RPG style. Great fun finding the right spells for each match, and winning combos, coupled with a variety of match-3 variations. The RPG side of the game and the storyline could be more enveloping, but all in all, great fun.

Better than the original.

This is a fun match 3 puzzle game with some RPG elements infused into it. Stuff like leveling, stats, equipment, etc. It's pretty much a perfect blend of puzzle and RPG gameplay. The first version suffered from some endgame slowdown, but this one has a much better, smoother end. Everything is well done, and it makes me want to try the other characters after a full play-through (which took me around 20 hours or so killing every monster).

Don't compare this to the first Puzzle Quest. Both are quite different in terms of gameplay, graphic and a little bit on the puzzle side. I love 'em both and anyone that loves Bejeweled-like puzzle and RPG should definitely grab both Puzzle Quest Challenge of the Warlords and Puzzle Quest 2. You'll spent countless of hours on both of the games, I know I did!

Great game. Isometric top down view and very easy controls, just point and click on the person/direction you want to travel to! Plenty of quests and exp to earn, and the combat style is simulanteously easy and difficult and full of strategy, as with any game of "match 3 or more gems"! Must buy!

At first, idea of fighting monsters with color puzzles (or tokens) in some hack'n'slash game type, forging your own equipment, upgrading your castle, catching monsters (and learning spells from them) and hunting for specials runes is ridiculous! Behold then, because this title will overthrow your objections from very beginning. Give it a try and you will sink immediately.

Puzzle Quest 2 is a must for any puzzle fan! Building upon the unique mesh of bejeweled and RPG elements of the original Puzzle Quest, Puzzle Quest 2 is a much more refined experience with better visuals, more balanced combat and a greater variety of game modes to boot. Actions such as looting treasure, bashing down doors, searching for traps and picking locks all have different varieties of puzzles, which helps keep the gameplay fresh. There are many sidequests to complete and the addictive gameplay means that hours vanish into thin air.

For both new and old fans of the series, Puzzle Quest 2 is a must have!

I have not played the previous parts in this series but is aware of the gameplay.

Puzzle Quest combines Rpg,strategy and puzzle(Bejeweled-style).As a player, you get a generous guidance throughout the game, you always know what to go but still has the freedom to choose the destination and challenge missions that do not follow the main quest.

The game is very addictive, atleast the first few hours. But the same type of enemy appears again and again and the concept begins to seem monotonous.Despite repeated battles with similar resistance,I can not resist continuing my journey through hordes of zombies, ghosts and other shadowy creatures.

A warning should come with the game that says:Warning!Addictive!!
