Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master

Rating: 4 (50 votes cast)

Joe Musashi thought that he had defeated the criminal organization Neo Zeed for good during the events of the SEGA Genesis game, The Revenge of Shinobi. Two years later, however, Neo Zeed has returned under the leadership of a mysterious man known as the Shadow Master. It is time for the ninja master to return once more and defeat his old foes. Joe has learned a few new moves to help even the odds. A powerful jump kick, a running sword slash and the ability to wall jump round off his collection of shurikens and Ninjitsu magic. Lead Shinobi through all seven stages.

Features

  • Although the gameplay of Shadow Dancer feels like the original arcade Shinobi, Shinobi III has more similarities to the SEGA Genesis title, The Revenge of Shinobi.
  • After nearly completing the original version of Shinobi III, SEGA delayed the game for a year and did extensive reworks on it to get the version that you are playing now

Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master review

This game was great! The ninja skills were amazing. I liked the gameplay and the storyline. Could use a little more random factor in the storyline, however. A lot of it was too obvious. All in all, worth it, and definitely worth the buy if you're into ninja type games!

Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master review

A blast from the plast that plays just as well now as it did when it came out - maybe better, if you have an XBox 360 controller.

The gameplay is absurdly polished. All the controls feel just right, and the challenge is heavy, but fair. Losing feels like an opportunity to hone your skills and do better, not a case where the computer got lucky.

Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys platformers and side-scrollers. And who doesn't, really?
