The Sims 3 Pets review

Excellent expansion pack. Out of the Pets expansions in the Sims 1, 2, & 3, this is my favorite largely due to the inclusion of horses.

My only gripe is that the breeding bloodlines in horses(and I suppose in cats and dogs)'option' doesn't rally exist. There is no real difference between an Arabian Stallion and a Thoroughbred, apart from the name, then if you combine the two it doesn't produce a third breed as it does in real-life (the Anglo-Arab breed)instead the game produces a 'mixed' horse. Furthermore, the different breeds don't really have their traditional characteristics (Thoroughbreds aren't any faster than other horses, American Quarters aren't any faster at short sprints, ect).

With that said, highly recommended EP for any pet lover.

I've always liked putting pets in the sims games from The Sims 1, 2 and this third installment is more pet accessories for them, but they have new life and new achievements interactions with pets, recommend.

I bought this because of the great deals here at GG, and well because of mods for the game. Had there been no mods for the game, even at that great of price (9.99) I probably would have let this title go. I'm not that big into playing animals and like having smaller families, but I do like what it does offer. However, it comes with a lot of bugs that will interfere with other EP's (like World Adventures, which I like a lot better). A nice EP, but it creates a lot of game lag and really buggy.

The Sims 3: Pets expand the Sims game-play with pets in their life which seen like a great idea but once again this expansion pack have the same flaw very much similar to The Sims 3: Last Night, you must start a new town that included with TS3: Pets if you want to get the most out of the expansion pack. I found it is hard to get into this expansion pack since I have to start new town to play all the contents out of this add-on pack, while The Sims 3 may have open-world neighborhood compare to previous series of The Sims game yet somehow I feel my Sims's world is much limited since each towns is completely disconnected from each other.

Personally, this is by far the best of the expansions to date. I have been waiting for the "pets" inclusion for a while now. I expected at least dogs and cats to be included, but the added element of horses (and being able to use them as alternative transport) is surprisingly my favorite part.

The game-play is not too slowed with the added pets as family member that you can control. The new neighborhood is quaint and very farmer-friendly.
