A Classic
There is a real charm to the game despite being overshadowed by its sequel. It remains one of the best beat 'em ups on the Mega drive. Three ex-cops and a seemingly endless supply of thugs to pummel, what else could you ask for?
An excellent game
Streets of Rage has aged exceptionally well, and the option to have 2 players on the same PC on the same time is just the icing on the cake. I have, however, noticed that the end-level bosses seem slightly overpowered, but it may just be I haven't properly gotten into the game yet. I recommend it!
Streets of Rage review
A good beat-em-all, but shows it's age. It lacks variety, with a lot of identical thugs, and the graphics are lacking for a Genesis game. The good points are the destroyable scenery items, the weapons you can pick-up, and the character choice. The controls are simple (fist, jump, call for support), but not simplistic, and even if it's dated, this game is still enjoyable.
Streets of Rage - game of my live
Cult game, which causes a smile to my face with each firing. When I was younger, Streets of Rage always relaksowało me, now I have the impression that the game despite the passing years is still excellent. Great, climate graphics, a few interesting characters, and most importantly fun, flowing from a common beat opponents. This is the essence of Streets of Rage.
Streets of Rage review
This is a pretty-archaic beat-em-up. Streets of Rage 2 is definitely more worthwhile, especially in co-op mode. This game, however, shows it's age more and seems very simplistic by comparison. Only for die hard fans of the series.
Streets of Rage review
This was a nice game for its time, and it still holds nostalgia value for those of us who remember playing it in the arcade.
A good value for the money if you are interested in trying platform fighter games, or if you want a copy of this game for your current collection. I highly recommend it.
Streets of Rage review
Yet another classic from Sega,Bare Knuckle:Furious Iron Fist as the game is called in Japan. This is part one of a trilogy and was released in 1991 for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.
Game based on the same game engine as Golden Axe.As a player, you can choose three fighters, all former police officers who master different martial arts.
Your opponent is really odd,how about a fire-breathing skinhead or juggling clowns who either throwing burning torches or meat cleavers on you,not very nice!Game producers seem to have a predilection for women with whips as regular shows up trying to make life even worse.
During the game you can smash the telephone boxes, barrels, tires(?),on so on.You are usually rewarded with various blunt as knives, bats, iron bars which makes it easier when you turn your way through the game. You can get weapons from enemies as well, but first you must disarm them!
The graphics are of the same class as other games titles released by Sega in the early 90`s,the sound is not as good as the Golden Axe,but it works.
It all feels a bit pointless when enemies after enemies that all look the same, challenge you but each track has its final boss, which I like.
For older players who were there when Sega ran "console war" with Nintendo in the early 90s,this is a nostalgia trip, for those of you who have not tested the game and are accustomed to todays beautiful game may not be so excited.
