Streets of Rage 3 review

The days of yore before save games and checkpoints there was the Genesis and Streets of Rage 3. Even on easy with 5 lives odds were very good you made it to act 3 before your batarang shaped controller ended up embedded in the drywall and yet you pulled it out and played again. Addicting, hard and no limit to the cheap shots that make you yell "It's cheating!" red faced with rage. All in all good fun, highly recommend.

I used to love this game as a child. Broke allot of controllers with my friends while playing this and all the other Streets of Rage and Golden Axe. But my favourite Street of Rage remains the second one. It looks a bit more polished and better overall.

If you like classic games, or owned it on the SEGA/MegaDrive system, I really recommend you getting this game, and of course get it in the classic pack that comes from SEGA. It contains allot of gem classics from SEGA.

Fast, more beautiful that the first Street of Rage, but somewhat laking. It isn't as polished as Street of Rage 2, and lacks originality. Not a bad game, but it's unfair at times, and seems more rushed (not enough animation frames for sprites, enemies selection seems random) and less tested that the previous one, with a varying difficulty not really related to the current level. It's still a good challenge, but if you want a great beat-em-all, play Street of Rage 2 instead.
