Gothic Complete Pack & ArcaniA Gold Edition review

By Xyrus posted 5th February

Hell yeah!

The first two games are awesome.

Gothic III was initially buggy as hell, but with the Community Patch it is a good game.

Can't really say anything about Arcania though. I heard it was a kick in the teeth for most Gothic fans, but I heard good things as well. So we'll see :)

Gothic Complete Pack & ArcaniA Gold Edition review

This is an amazing pack - I caught it on a huge sale. The Gothic games are super fun with a long history of games similar to Elder Scrolls. The original Gothic game is now pretty dated visually, but it's a great ride to play through these games. Strongly recommend!

A good purchase if you can catch a little discount

This packs includes not only the four gothic games, but also the expansions for Gothic 2, 3 and 4. Although the two first games are the ones that are considered great by old school players, and Arcania is considered too easy and simplified by the same players, I must say that I greatly enjoyed it, perhaps because of that.

Apart from that, you have a huge quantity of third person action-rpg in this package. If you like those kind of games, and catch a good price, this pack is well worth the money.

An expansive and exhilerating set of open world rpg games.

The combat controls take some getting used to but once you do you will find yourself drawn into the world.

Some of the more recent Installments don't quite hold up as well as the older ones, but altogether this is an amazing bundle of immersive open world RPG gameplay.

Gothic Complete Collection review

4 games, two stand-alone addons, one expack, what does all this add up to? Fun, a lot of fun. Here are some short 3 to 4 line reviews of just what you get in the pack: Gothic I, aged, funny controls, and bad graphics, but long and detailed, but very little hand holding. Good if you like hunting for what you need to do. A true classic. Gothic II, same sins as the first with fix controls and some refinement. A lot of fun if you don't mind getting deep into a world. Gothic II: NotR, a true addon, adds quest through out the whole game, best to install this before even playing Gothic II, how an addon should be. Gothic III, some call it the best, other the turning point where things went bad. Decent game, good looking compared to the first two, can get very "clicky" at times. Gothic III: FG, standalone addon, don't love it. Buggy, feels incomplete, adds nothing to the game just slaps quests at the end with no real need to play Gothic III. Good only because it come in this pack. Gothic IV, a depart from the series, more action based than the others, great looking, vast world, doesn't really feel like a Gothic game but rather a run of the mill RPG, I like it though. Gothic 4: FoS, another standalone addon, again just slaps on quests at the end, no need to play the "real" game, can import your data from Gothic 4 so not all bad. All and all, for what you get this pack is well worth it, over 400 hours of great game play but you must love rpgs, and no Mass Effect and Borderlands are not RPGs like this.

Gothic Complete Collection not so review

Gothic series is one of the best RPG series on the PC, this bundle is well worth your money for you can spend hunreds of hours with 1 gothic game only and this bundle gives you a chance to get them all for one price. Excluding the fact that the newest gothic werent that good compared to the older ones.
