GAME SUMMARY

Majesty Gold Edition

Rating: 4.5 (14 votes cast)

This Special Edition of Majesty contains both, the main program as well as the Northern Expansion Pack in one box.

Majesty is a fantasy real-time strategy game. At first, it may look like another Age of Empires clone with its different buildings and units but the game plays completely different. You don't have the chance to control your units directly. They have their own wills and do whatever they want to do. The player can indirectly control them by setting gathering points to various spots on the map. Units then try to reach these points and will automatically choose the right action to do at this spot once they're there, e.g. fighting monsters, harvest food or mine resources.

Both the main game and the expansion feature interesting campaigns with typical fantasy plots told in many linked missions...

Majesty Gold Edition review

By aerynkelly posted 20th April 2012

Majesty is highly enjoyable, even if when you first start you have no clue what to do. The RPG element really is only in the stories behind each quest. You do not control anything in the game other than buildings. It's a different take on strategy, but simple enough to catch on very quickly and maximize your game play.

For Windows 7 users - I had to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 95/98 in order to keep the game from crashing.

Get over there already!

Majesty is a unique mixture of RPG and RTS, where you get to rule a kingdom and fight hordes of monsters using heroes. Also, you need to keep the people happy.

You do not control your troops directly, however, you need to incite them to do something. This involves putting bounties on monsters and unexplored places and hoping your low-level adventurers don't run into an angry mob of hungry beasts.

Overall, it is a unique, pretty fun experience. Give it a try!

This a unique mix of RTS and RPG genre, that puts you in charge of ruling a fantasy kingdom. It stands out of the crowd with it's hands-off approach in commanding your minions - you don't get to control them directly by clicking on a unit and then clicking on a desired target or destination.Instead, you set markers on the map at the locations that you want explored, and on monsters and enemy buildings you want destroyed. Then the heroes you recruit from the guilds (warriors, wizards, rogues etc.) go after the bounty. After they complete their task, they'll spend the earned gold in inns,at the blacksmith or the marketplace, buying new equipment.Every building generates a tax income, that gets collected by the tax-collector.Heroes also gain experience and level up,if they survive long enough. Also, you don't control your workers (peasants, that is).You select a location where you wish to build a structure, and they get to work.

The quests and the general setting is your basic fantasy cliche.

A must play for every strategy gamer.
