What can I do when Steam wont accept my serial !!?!?!

According to the product page the version on GamersGate does not appear to be Steam compatible. I think you have to download it from GamersGate using the download link in your games library.

Well That sounds like a reasonable explanation, although I did not find the "product page" you mentioned. I searched for max payne 3 and saw the game description, that is what I would call a product page.

Anyways... Will I then be able to play multiplayer with my friends on steam, if this serial isn't Steam compatible ??

It looks like it uses Rockstars own social club system for online play so you should be able to play with users of the Steam version.

you will be able to join anyone from any service in the world,and as you have found out it is NOT steam compatible.

Well the game runs on the rockstar servers, not steam ones, so you should be able to play with anyone that has a legit copy of MAX PAYNE 3

Max Payne is a Rockstar game, and therefore it uses the Rockstar Social Club to search for online games and to connect with them,
so u are able to play with online via rockstar servers
