Elven Legacy Error On Play (VOID)

I downloaded Elven Legacy and when I try to run it, an error code "Cannot create device: hr=80004005 (E_FAIL)" pops up. It proceedes to immediately disappear before I can exit the pop-up. Does anyone know how to fix this?

according to this page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921292 it says that FIX: You may receive a "0x80004005 (E_FAIL)" error message when you use a range rowset in OLE DB for OLAP in a SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services-based application so its something to do with your sql server

That looks like a D3D error. You should make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card and the latest install of directX 9: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
