Trouble with the patch,which means I can't install Ice and Blood

I've downloaded Sacred 2 Fallen Angel but have so far been unable to get a patch to install. The version I have is 2.0.2 but I need it to be 2.4 to install Ice and Blood. Been trying all day and getting quite frustrated. Can anybody help please? It's probably obvious, but I have no idea what I'm doing!

Could you include more information? Why does the patching fail? Do you get a specific error?
What helps a lot is trying to Google the specific error your get and the game's name.

Also assuming you use http://update.sacred2.com/dl_international.html as your patching page, try to get the patch that says Release UK 2.11.2 → Update 2.40.

I suggest you go here http://forum.sacred2.com/showthread.php?p=634959 and follow the incremental patch way i tried doing the big patch and it just would not work yet doing the smaller patches 1 at a time from a fresh install worked.
It is a lot of work but its works and should help you get up to 2.4
You have the uk version just to say that might also be why you have some trouble if your using the us patch so if data isnt an issue try the big 2.0.2 to 2.4 patch if not try all the smaller ones

You got all the patches youŽll need bundled with the package you downloaded from GG. Just install those, and you wont have any issues wit the UK/International nonsense. If youŽre still having issues with the patching process, you should tell us about the actual problem in a more detailed way.

Thanks all for your help. I followed Tigar's advice and now have it all up and running.
