Crusader Kings II
In-game store crashes
Hello! I just bought Sword of Islam for CKII, and when I try to launch the ingame store to retrieve the expansion, which I purchased from this site, the game crashes to the desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

can you run the game without crashing? it not, your card may be below the requirement to run the game,at the very least update your driver to the latest version and install latest game patch. This may also help. http://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Crusader_Kings_II
Unfortunately, if all else fails. The cliche "advise" is:
"Try to uninstall, delete anything left in the folders, and start over from scratch, make sure your game is patched"
Did you install patch 1.06 for CKII prior to installing Sword of Islam? You nee the patch in order to play the expansion pack. The patch is available from the launcher screen and here from the Paradox forums:
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?616401-Crusader-Kings-II-1.06-PATCH-RELEASED-Checksum-YYEV-NOT-for-problem-reports!
As mentioned in the link, checksum should be YYEV prior to installing SoI. (Click "GamersGate version".)
Just to make sure I understand you correctly: when you say "...which I purchased from this site", I hope you mean that you bought CKII from GG and SoI from the ingame store. It is the only way SoI will work with the GG version of CKII.
@Link Strife The version of Sword of Islam bought on the site only works with the GamersGate version of CKII. It just unlocks the content in the in-game store, so it doesn't matter where it was bought.
"System Requirements
Requires original Crusader Kings II installed to play.
NOTICE: You can only access the DLC within Crusader Kings II through the in-game store.
Only work with GamersGate version of Crusader Kings II"
@collins2 Have you allowed the game access through your firewall (most likely the Windows Firewall)? If not it might be getting stopped from connecting to the store.
I've uninstalled, deleted both game folders, and reinstalled many times. I bought both CKII and SoI from this site. I had CK II installed previously. I've disabled my firewall and any other programs that might interfere with this until I figure this situation out. The in-game store and clicking on the direct link to purchase SoI in-game causes me to CTD.
Assuming that you already installed the lastest patch, try this from another user whose game keeps CTD. Don't know if it'll work but without more info (comp spec and etc), there not much I can tell you.
"Your problem comes from the display size of the game by default it is 1920 * 1020. Try to lower it.
Go into my documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II.
In setting, change x =... and y=.... (no space)
graphics = {
size = {
x =1440
y =900
}
This are size of screen :
1680*1050
1680*1200
1680*1024
1680*900
1366*768
1360*768
1280*1024
1280*960
1280*800
1280*768
1152*864
1024*768
1440*900"
Another possible fix:
"The only similar bug I've found are saves with marked characters of interest causing a crash on load, this is supposed to be fixed in 1.03b: http://store.steampowered.com/news/7371/
What might have happened is you could have a corrupted save file and each time the game opens the file to read the information for the list of saved games, it crashes. You could try moving all the files out of the save game folder, I think they should be in "c:\Users\name\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings 2\save games""
I think voken might be onto something, although I don't think it would be a save game in this case as I don't think those would be accessed when entering the in-game store.
If the game stores a list of all the items you've bought in the store or your login details it might be crashing trying to read that sort of information back. Uninstalling the game might not remove this data if it's stored in some place other than the install folder. You could try uninstalling, renaming or deleting the whole Crusader Kings 2 folder in documents (see voken's post above) and then reinstalling to see if that solves it.
I doubt it would result in the game crashing but have you confirmed that the game is granted access to the internet? It could be blocked by router settings as well as by the now disabled firewall.
I am unaware of how you download the DLC:s but if it is possible to retrieve the files outside of the game you might be able to do a manual installation.
