Crash to desktop
The game grashes to desktop every time I go into 3d realtime mode. There is a patch 1.3 available on the internet, however, the patch install fails saying that it is the wrong language.
Has this game been patched?

I don't actually own this game so I can't check this out but this site claims to have the patch in various language versions one of which is English:

Their are no patches for this game. The version you have is the current one, what settings are you running it at ? It could be one of the settings causing your crash. The game has no support that I've ever been able to find.
I reduced my settings to the lowest. Is there anthing in particular that I need to turn off?
I bought the game from gamersgate yesterday. I have a 2.8 ghz duo core macbook pro. I have 2 gig of ram.
I have windows XP on the macbook pro. Maybe you need alot of memory without the patch? Is the gamersgate version updated with patch 1.3?
Not sure if 1.3 is a cumulative patch that includes 1.2. Perhaps try using the 1.2 patch, then use the 1.3 patch after.
As far as I know despite them claiming to be english the version that is out now ( and the one I bought a year ago) is current NONE of the patches you find online will work. All will tell you wrong version or wrong language.
I tried an earlier patch, before 1.2. It looked like the patch went through and then when I started the game, I saw V1.3 in the top right and a list of text file lines. Looks like I screwed up the game with an earlier patch.
So now frustrated, I used system restore to get back to before installing the game. I was intending to buy a new cpu. Perhaps Gobs of Ram will make the inefficency of the game moot. Oh well, $2.50 for a grand strategy game with turn based, (smultaneous moves?), at the grand strategy and realtime 3D at the battle level, world wide was just to good to be true :(. There were so many unit types, air land, navel,...
I noticed the requirment need "7.5 GB Available Hard Drive Space"
I just checked my free space.. 7.34GB. This may be the problem if the game is already at version 1.3.
I will delete some files and get back.
Reinstalled the game. I have 31.6 GB free. The game still crashes in 3D mode.
Do those who it works for have alot of ram,(more than 4GB)?
My video card is an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT, 512MB. I have no problems with other 3d games. My Macbookpro also has 4GB memory. There were no patches at the gamersgate download area.

"Did you buy a download edition of War Leaders or a boxed retail copy?
As far as I know the US/Canada release might already have included patch
1.3 since patch 1.3 & the Dreamcatcher edition came out at about the same
time. The patch we have was issued for its european edition.
